New Story Added: Waterloo to Bank

Posted by Mark Moxon on 5 July 2008

To save time, I also walked the Waterloo & City line on Friday, as it slotted nicely in with the corners of the Circle line (though technically I should have walked it after the Northern line, as that came first). You can read all about this delightful stroll along the south bank of the Thames in my article on Waterloo to Bank.

Posted by Mark Moxon on 5 July 2008

I’ve just published my story of the two corners of the Circle line that I didn’t complete while doing the Metropolitan, District and Hammersmith & City lines. You can read all about them in my article on Aldgate to Tower Hill and Gloucester Road to High Street Kensington.

New Story Added: Shoreditch to New Cross and New Cross Gate

Posted by Mark Moxon on 4 July 2008

I wasn’t expecting to have to walk the East London line, as it’s now closed, but apparently it’s still part of the Underground, so I just had to slot it in. I’m glad I did, as it’s a fascinating part of the capital. You can read all about it on my report from Shoreditch to New Cross and New Cross Gate; I hope you like it.

New Story Added: Wimbledon to Edgware Road

Posted by Mark Moxon on 2 July 2008

I’ve finally finished the District line, and you can now read all about the last section, from Wimbledon to Edgware Road. The sun continues to shine (though I think that be about to end) and the walking is still fascinating; I hope you enjoy reading about it as much as I’m enjoying walking it. :-)

New Story Added: Becontree to Upminster

Posted by Mark Moxon on 30 June 2008

I’ve now crossed London from west to east, and you can read all about the final leg, out there in zones 5 and 6, in my Becontree to Upminster article. I loved it, much to my surprise; I’ll never diss Dagenham again!

New Story Added: Bow Road to Becontree

Posted by Mark Moxon on 27 June 2008

After a really enjoyable jaunt through the most ethnically diverse region of London, I’ve written up my account of Bow Road to Becontree. The weather continues to smile on me, and the East End in the sun is a sight to behold…

Posted by Mark Moxon on 24 June 2008

You can now read all about yesterday’s walk from Victoria to Bow Road, where I finally break through the centre of town to hit the East End for the first time… and it’s a fascinating part of the capital. More soon…

New Story Added: Turnham Green to Victoria and Earl’s Court to Kensington (Olympia)

Posted by Mark Moxon on 20 June 2008

I’m making good progress along the District line, and have just published my account of Turnham Green to Victoria and Earl’s Court to Kensington (Olympia). It was another lovely walk through Victorian London, and I’m pleased to say I racked up my second run-in with the Boys in Blue. Bless ‘em…

New Story Added: Richmond to Ealing Broadway

Posted by Mark Moxon on 19 June 2008

You can now find my account of Richmond to Ealing Broadway on the website. As I live in Ealing, I’ve walked this area a lot, and it’s glorious! Photographs will follow tomorrow, along with further District line shenanigans…

New Story Added: Hammersmith to Baker Street and Liverpool Street to Aldgate East

Posted by Mark Moxon on 18 June 2008

I’ve just finished off my account of the Hammersmith & City line, walking from Hammersmith to Baker Street and Liverpool Street to Aldgate East. I absolutely adored this leg, which surprised me as I used to live in Hammersmith and never thought of it as much of a walking area. I was wrong!

I’ll add photos for this and my last Metropolitan leg in the next day or two, but I’m concentrating on getting my accounts written down before my memory fails. I’m walking again tomorrow, but expect to see lots of pictures magically appear on Friday.

Until next time…
