Subject: Lejog a 2nd time and navigation orientation

Hi again, about how many times did you get lost during Lejog? Do you recall the causes? unexpected farm fences, avoiding steep ascents/descents on mountains? Just curious. I got lost in the lake District once, last about 30 minutes near Keswick actually. Also, why did you decide to do de Lejog a 2nd time? Was it different? I've hiked Jordan twice, but did different areas. Have you tried the Wales Coastal path, I think it completed around 2013.

Hi Mike,
Yeah, I got lost quite a few times. The Staffordshire Way was a particular challenge when I did it - the signage wasn't great, and this was in the days of paper maps and compasses, so that really made a difference. Getting lost is all part of the experience. Everyone does it!
I haven't done LEJOG twice. Once was plenty for me, thanks.
Not tried the Wales Coastal Path, either. To be honest, I haven't done any long-distance walks since my LEJOG in 2003 (I walked the tube in 2008, but I'm not sure that counts). I think I probably burned a fuse on that one!
All the best,
Mark
