Doing Your Own Tubewalk: Weather

English summers can be a bit hit and miss, and summer 2008 was no exception: June was a hit, July was a mixture and August was a definite miss, but one of the advantages of walking in London is the general lack of mud and an abundance of buildings to shelter inside, so if the weather kicks off, you're a lot better off than on some boggy moor in the middle of nowhere.

That said, the weather is the most influential factor in any tubewalk, and it clearly influenced how I felt about things; I remember east London for its beautiful blue skies and the southern reaches of the Northern line for their constant downpours, and although I was gutted that my walk around Heathrow was accompanied by drab skies and poor visibility, I was thrilled by the beautiful weather I enjoyed out on the farthest reaches of the Central line.
